The C. William Gilchrist Gallery & Museum invites the community to celebrate art, creativity, and western-inspired fun at the 18th Annual Gilchrist Gala, "Boots, Brims & Bubbly," taking place on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
This year’s gala embraces a western theme and promises an unforgettable evening featuring artwork by regional artists, live music by Hot Sauce Willy, delicious food and beverages, exciting entertainment, and more surprises to be announced. Proceeds from the event support the Gilchrist’s mission to foster arts and culture throughout the region.

In addition to the evening festivities, the Gilchrist is excited to introduce the an Artist Showdown,
a live painting competition that will take place during the gala.
Selected artists will have 90 minutes to create a finished piece before a
live audience, with works judged for cash prizes.
The competition will award:
- First Place: $500
- People’s Choice Award: $100
Canvas and easels will be provided, while participating artists are asked to bring their own painting materials. The theme is open to each artist’s interpretation, although participants are encouraged to consider the evening’s western motif.
Applications are now being accepted, and artists are invited to submit examples of their work. The deadline to apply is July 22, 2026.
