Call for Entries: Gilchrist 2017 'Art for Giving'’ 

The C. William Gilchrist Museum of the Arts, 104 Washington St, Cumberland MD will present their annual ‘ART FOR GIVING’ exhibition from November 24 through December 17. The museum is seeking entries from visual artists who wish to display and sell their original artwork in any medium during the 2017 Holiday Season.

Artist drop-off dates for the exhibition are: November 10 (Friday), 3-7pm and November 11 (Saturday), 10am-3pm. Artist registration forms will be available on the submission days. Each artist is allowed two (2) entries of original work. The gallery staff shall have sole discretion with regard to the manner in which submitted items will be installed and displayed. At least (1) artwork will be hung for the exhibit opening reception. Depending on space availability, the 2nd artwork may be reserved until after the 1st is sold. Two dimensional works should be securely wired for hanging (no saw tooth) and each piece should be labeled on the front with: title, medium, artist name, and selling price. There is no fee for submissions. The Gilchrist will retain a 30% commission from the price of all art sold during the exhibition.
